OSI Groups started as a butchery shop which was based in Illinois, Chicago and was operated as a family business. The retail store was later branded as Otto and Sons. The management of the firm decided to expand the business to other parts of the world. There existed a good relationship between the management team at OSI Group and McDonald’s and the two organizations partnered where the former would be a core supplier of meat products to the latter. OSI Industries Continues To Expand Its Presence Across The World

The Forbes list ranks OSI Group as one of the largest companies in the world. The company started as a small boutique firm in Chicago. At that moment, Otto Kolschowsky had just moved to the town with a group of German immigrants. The city was described as a business hub. Chicago Expansion

In 2017, OSI Industries purchased Tyson Foods, a manufacturing plant situated in Chicago. The 200,000 square feet plant provides room for the company to increase its production capacity for North Americans. Given that OSI Industries has a facility within the same area, the move has majorly contributed to the expansion of production capabilities. Flagship Europe Acquisition

In 2016, OSI Industries acquired Flagship Europe. The facility distributes pies, frozen poultry, and dressings. Soon after the acquisition, the company was rebranded to Creative Foods Europe in order to describe its capabilities to produce high-quality food. Before the purchase, the facility expanded its presence to by acquiring Calder Foods. This facility supplies sandwich fillings as well as dips. OSI Group’s spokesperson said that the additional facility would help grow the production capacity of the firm.

Spain Expansion

One of OSI Industries facility is situated in Toledo. The company put its resources in a production facility to boost poultry output. The facility’s initial output was approximately 12,000 tons. The addition makes it possible for it to produce about 24,000 tons every year.


OSI Food Solutions Outshines Other Firms In The Food Sector To Win The 2016 Globe Of Honour Award

OSI Food Solutions was the recipients of the Globe of Honour Award in 2016. The British Safety Council presented the award to OSI Food Solutions at the Drapers’ Hall in London.

OSI was among the 18 companies that won the 2016 Globe of Honour Award. Nominees for the award were required to have excelled in the management of environmental risks. They were also required to have earned five stars in an environmental management audit conducted by the British Safety Council.

Speaking during the award ceremony, Lynda Armstrong, the chairperson of the British Safety Council, congratulated OSI Group Food Solution for its exemplary environmental management approaches. She also said that the Globe of Honour Award is meant for companies that have adopted an integrated approach to protecting the environment for sustainability.

Kelly Grimwood, OSI’s Europe environmental manager, received the award on behalf of the company. Grimwood said that besides environmental management, leadership also counts in winning a Globe of Honour Award.
